Christian broadcasting

Radio transmitters 32,500
TV transmitters 50,500
Radio sets in use 1.7 billion
TV sets in use 750 million
People w/o radio or TV 3.5 billion

Since its origin in 1921, Christian broadcasting has expanded across the Earth. Today, every country, religion, confession and every large Christian denomination regularly uses it and even produces it. Some 26% of the world's population regularly listen to and/or view Christian programs. A third of these programs are distributed over Christian stations. Nevertheless, distribution of the entire range of Christian broadcasting is very uneven. Some 99.9% is directed at and benefits Christians only. This leaves only 0.09% for World B (the evangelized non-Christian world) and 0.01% for World A. Of 11,500 peoples, 7,313 get no own-language Christian broadcasting. Although many World B languages have Christian programming, in many cases it is only a scant 10, 20 or 30 minutes each week. In a technology which broadcasts 390,000 hours of radio and 346,000 hours of television every week, 30 minutes for a language with a million speakers is an insult to potential hearers and also to other workers for the Great Commission.
